The country's total liquid foreign exchange reserves rose by $557 million during last week following the arrival of official inflow from the Asian Development Bank. According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Pakistan's total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at $15.577 billion as on August 9, 2019 compared to $15.02 billion a week earlier.

The State Bank's foreign exchange reserves posted an increase of $535 million to $8.264 billion during last week because of inflow of $500 million received from the ADB. Reserves held by banks increased by $22 million to $7.313 billion as on August 9, 2019 compared to $7.291 billion on August 2, 2019.
